Discover, create and connect: Adult-focused events with Soldier On

Whether you’re looking to try something new, focus on your wellbeing, connect with others or simply enjoy a unique experience, Soldier On’s adult-focused events offer plenty of opportunities to get involved.

From creative workshops and cultural tours to surfing, golf, yoga and social gatherings, these events are designed to help current and former serving Defence members, veterans and family members build connections, learn new skills and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

ACT

Walk & Talk Mondays

Start your week with fresh air, gentle exercise and great conversation. Walk & Talk Mondays provides a relaxed opportunity to connect with others while enjoying the scenic surrounds of Yerrabi Pond.

Introduction to Breathwork

Discover practical breathing techniques that can support relaxation, focus and overall wellbeing. This introductory workshop provides simple tools that can be incorporated into everyday life.

Tour of the Museum of Australian Democracy

Discover a new creative outlet through this hands-on pottery program designed for veterans and their partners. Learn new techniques, create your own pieces and enjoy developing a new skill in a supportive environment.

This 5-week structured pottery program is all about creativity, mindfulness and connection.

4-Week Intermediate and Advanced Surfing Lessons

Take your surfing skills to the next level with this exciting four-week program. Delivered by experienced instructors, these sessions provide the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself, build confidence and enjoy time in the ocean.

Veteran Coffee Catch Up – Flower Power Garden Centre

Enjoy a coffee and conversation in a welcoming environment designed to help veterans and family members strengthen social connections and build community. Our friendly host, George Sutton, Soldier On Service Ambassador and Volunteer, will be there to greet you and offer support while you enjoy your free coffee.

Brushstrokes of Resilience: Victorian Veteran Art Therapy

Explore creativity, self-expression and wellbeing through a guided art therapy program designed specifically for veterans. No artistic experience is required.

The program includes 10 art therapy sessions, over a three-month period, with participants expected to attend at least 80% of sessions.

Gentle Flow & Restore Yoga

Combining mindful movement, gentle stretching and relaxation techniques, these sessions are designed to help participants recharge and reconnect with their wellbeing.

Soldier On has partnered with Ahvana Darwin to provide free weekly yoga for contemporary veterans and their family members. Whether you are current or ex-serving, or the brother/sister/daughter/sibling or partner of a veteran you are welcome to attend.

A Social Canvas

Join local artist and veteran Robby to learn how it’s possible for self-identified non-artists to make art. Have a chat & a laugh and smear some paint around with fellow veterans and family members. Relax, Restore & Recharge – Yin Yoga with Soldier On

Join from the comfort of home and enjoy a restorative online yoga session designed to help you unwind, release tension and focus on self-care.

This is the perfect opportunity for veterans and their families to take a break, focus on wellbeing, and build resilience through movement and mindfulness.

What You Need: A yoga mat (or soft surface) and a quiet space.
