Supporting us

Your support is critical for us to continue supporting veterans and their families as they establish identity, purpose and belonging in the civilian world.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression can be common experiences when a military career ends. Tragically, the legacy of this hidden plight is an unacceptably high suicide rate among ex-service personnel and irreparably damaged families.

Almost three in four transitioned ADF members are estimated to have met the criteria for a mental disorder either prior to, during, or after their military career. Over 20% of transitioned ADF personnel have experienced suicidal ideations, plans, or attempts in the past 12 months.

Soldier On is an independent, not-for-profit organisation saving lives and keeping families together by ensuring the critical final stage of a military career – the exit from service – is properly supported.

More than 8,000 Australians benefit from Soldier On’s evidence- based, trauma informed care, covering health, employment, learning, participation and social connection.

We rely on the generosity of volunteers, government, industry partners and donors to deliver our support services to participants.
