Due to great success and ongoing projects, we and are expanding our team and are looking for astute Engineers all multiple disciplines to join the Naval Design and Engineering Centre in its Melbourne, Docklands office. You will come with strong technical and design knowledge and will be working within your most suitable discipline for naval ships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a successful multi-disciplined Engineering team and work alongside industry leaders and like-minded engineers on exciting new naval ship designs.
In this role, you will:
- Provide high level of engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.
- Complete design for naval ship systems, applying robust systems engineering process.
- Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.
- Integrate platforms on naval vessels.
- Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with established Navantia and customer standards.
- Work effectively within your division at the Navantia Design and Engineering Centre
- Work effectively within the broader Navantia Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.
- Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedule, and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and administrate design coordination meetings with engineering project stakeholders.
- Plan and administrate Design Review meetings with the Client.
- Provide mentoring and support where needs be unless you are at graduate level.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or have technical experience within the Naval domain. Veterans welcome!
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment and manage, prioritise, and complete multiple tasks concurrently.
- Capacity to provide technical assessment based on engineering calculations.
- Ability to work collaboratively, but can also operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.
- Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline.
