Australians step up for veterans as March On Challenge kicks off

Canberra, 4 March 2025 – Thousands of Australians are lacing up their walking shoes as Soldier On’s March On Challenge officially kicks off this month. This annual campaign calls on participants to walk or run up to 96km throughout March and raising vital funds to support veterans and their families.

The 96km distance represents the length of the Kokoda Track, a site of incredible resilience and sacrifice during World War II. By taking on this challenge, Australians are not only commemorating the spirit of those who served but also contributing to suicide prevention and mental health services for today’s veterans.

Soldier On CEO, Paul Singer, emphasised the importance of the challenge:

The March On Challenge is more than just a physical feat—it’s a powerful way for Australians to stand in solidarity with our veteran community. Every step taken and every dollar raised goes directly towards life-changing programs that help veterans transition successfully to civilian life.”

Funds raised through the March On Challenge directly support Soldier On’s health and wellbeing services.

Get involved:

  • Set your goal and walk or run up to 96km throughout March
  • Raise funds and awareness for veteran support services

Media Opportunities

Soldier On CEO Paul Singer, March On participants, and Soldier On ambassadors are available for interviews. Media are also invited to attend key March On events across the country.
