Over 7,000 Australians unite to walk 96km in honour of veterans and their families
Soldier On is proud to announce the resounding success of the March On Challenge 2025, which saw over 7,000 participants collectively raise a record-breaking $2.14 million to support the mental health and wellbeing of Australian veterans and their families.
The March On Challenge invites Australians to walk or run 96km throughout March, symbolising the length of the Kokoda Track, in honour of the courage and sacrifice of our veterans. This year’s challenge witnessed 7,038 participants and 887 teams from across the nation come together in solidarity.
The funds raised will directly support Soldier On’s mental health services aimed at preventing veteran suicide and helping veterans and their families thrive. These services include tailored mental health support, wellness programs, and community connection initiatives.
Notable individual fundraisers included George Sutton, who raised $18,060, and Troy Bolwell, who raised $16,057. Top-performing teams included ‘Walking for Waide’ with $40,036 raised, and ‘2Dads’ with $31,476.
“The overwhelming support and participation in this year’s March On Challenge demonstrate the community’s commitment to honouring our veterans and supporting them and their families to thrive,” said Soldier On’s CEO, Paul Singer. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who marched with us and contributed to this vital cause.”
