Hanwha Defence Australia honours service through connection

Steven Woodward, Brett Henderson and Paul Singer

Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) has demonstrated its deep commitment to Australia’s veteran community, hosting its inaugural ‘Bring a Veteran to Work’ Day at the Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) in Victoria.

Organised by the HDA Veterans Committee, the event provided a meaningful opportunity for staff to invite veterans from their families and communities to view the critical work being undertaken in delivering the single largest investment in Army capability to date — strengthening the link between past service and future Defence capability.

With more than 500 years of combined service represented, the day included a special address from a Korean War veteran and remarks from Soldier On CEO Paul Singer, who attended as a guest speaker.

‘This initiative from Hanwha Defence Australia highlights the importance of connection, understanding, and shared respect between Defence industry and the veteran community,’ Mr Singer said. ‘By opening their doors and celebrating service in such an inclusive way, Hanwha is setting a powerful example of how industry partnerships can honour the past while helping veterans look confidently to the future.’

Hanwha described the event as “a meaningful opportunity for staff to invite veterans from their families and communities to view the critical work being undertaken… strengthening the link between past service and future Defence capability”.

The day formed part of Hanwha’s Remembrance Day commemorations, standing as a heartfelt acknowledgement of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of our nation.

As a proud corporate partner of Soldier On, Hanwha Defence Australia continues to demonstrate the shared purpose that underpins this partnership — recognising veterans’ contributions, building understanding and strengthening community connections.

Lest we forget.
