Every workplace has the potential to change lives.
Through Soldier On’s Workplace Giving program, employees across Australia are making regular pre-tax donations from their pay to help veterans and their families thrive beyond military service. While each contribution may seem small, together they provide vital support for services that help veterans build healthy, connected and successful civilian lives.
One organisation leading by example is The Good Guys, whose employees have been supporting Soldier On through the company’s Doing Good workplace giving program since 2018.

The initiative gives team members the opportunity to donate directly from their salary to one of 12 charity partners, with every donation matched dollar for dollar by The Good Guys, effectively doubling the impact of each contribution.
Since partnering with Soldier On, The Good Guys and its employees have contributed almost $200,000 to help fund programs supporting veterans and their families.
Michelle Jones, Workplace Giving Manager, Retail Operations at The Good Guys, says supporting Soldier On aligns closely with the company’s commitment to giving back to the communities where its people live and work.
‘At The Good Guys, our Doing Good workplace giving program is about helping families live better for less, while supporting the communities where we live and work,’ she says.
‘We’re proud to support Soldier On through workplace giving, helping fund their important work supporting veterans and their families with mental health, employment and wellbeing services as they transition to civilian life.’
Workplace giving is one of the simplest and most effective ways employees can support charities they care about. Donations are made directly from pre-tax salary, providing immediate tax benefits while creating a reliable source of funding that allows organisations like Soldier On to plan and deliver long-term support where it is needed most.
For employees, it’s also an opportunity to be part of something bigger.
‘Our team love how easy it is to get involved and the ability to choose causes they care about from our 12 charity partners,’ Ms Jones says.
‘The matched giving also means their impact goes further, and they really value being able to make a meaningful difference together through small, regular contributions.’
For Soldier On, support from workplace giving partners helps deliver services across health and wellbeing, employment, learning and participation, empowering veterans and their families to navigate transition with confidence and build positive futures beyond Defence service.
The Good Guys’ ongoing support demonstrates how businesses and employees can work together to create lasting social impact. By combining the generosity of individual team members with matched corporate giving, every donation helps ensure more veterans and families can access the support they need, when they need it most.
