For 24 hours, from 8 am 25 June – 8 am 26 June, every donation made to Soldier On’s Tax Time Appeal will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.
While the matched giving period offers supporters the opportunity to double the impact of their donation, it also highlights the important role fundraising plays in helping Soldier On deliver programs and services to veterans and their families across Australia.
Each year, thousands of current and former serving Australian Defence Force personnel and their family members engage with Soldier On’s services. Some are looking for support to secure meaningful employment after service. Others are seeking opportunities to study, connect with mentors, build new social networks or regain confidence as they navigate significant life changes.
Providing these programs requires ongoing investment and community support.
Fundraising helps Soldier On deliver practical programs that create opportunities, foster connection and support long-term wellbeing.
It enables the organisation to respond to emerging needs, expand services and ensure veterans and families can access support when they need it most.
Soldier On CEO Paul Singer says donor support remains critical to the organisation’s ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families.
‘Fundraising is far more than raising money. It is about creating opportunities for veterans and families to thrive after service,’ Paul says.
‘The generosity of our supporters helps us deliver employment programs, education pathways, mentoring opportunities and community connections that can have a lasting impact on someone’s future.
‘For many people, the transition from military to civilian life can be complex. Through the support of donors, we are able to walk alongside veterans and families as they build new routines, develop new skills and reconnect with their communities.’
This year’s annual Tax Time Appeal has already raised more than $243,000, with funds helping to support programs and services delivered across the country.
The 24-hour matched giving campaign provides an opportunity for supporters to maximise the impact of their contribution. Every dollar donated during the campaign will be matched until the $50,000 target is reached, helping Soldier On extend its reach and support more veterans and family members.
‘Every donation represents someone choosing to stand behind those who have served our country,’ Paul says.
‘We’re incredibly grateful for that support. Together, we’re helping veterans and families build strong, connected and fulfilling lives beyond service.’
Soldier On thanks the individuals, families, organisations and partners who continue to support its mission and help create positive futures for veterans and their families.
To help thoughtful donation work twice as hard to support Soldier On’s delivery of programs and services to veterans and their families, donate before matched giving day ends.
