Canberra, 15 January 2026 – Soldier On has launched its annual March On Challenge for 2026, urging Australians to move with purpose throughout March to support veteran mental health and help save lives.
March On is a free, nationwide fundraising challenge that invites participants to walk, run or roll 96 kilometres, independently or with others, anywhere they choose. Participants can complete the challenge at their own pace, across the month of March, making it accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels.
Funds raised through the March On Challenge support Soldier On’s health and wellbeing services to help prevent veteran suicide and save lives.
Right now in Australia, veterans aged 25–44 are 2.7 times more likely to die by suicide than other members of the community. Soldier On says community-led initiatives like March On play a vital role in ensuring veterans can access ongoing mental health and wellbeing support during and after their transition from military to civilian life.
Soldier On CEO Paul Singer said the challenge highlights the power of collective action.
‘March On shows what’s possible when Australians move together with purpose. Every step taken helps fund real support and reminds veterans that their service is recognised and valued.’
Participants can take part individually or as part of a team with friends, family or colleagues, logging kilometres throughout March while fundraising to support veteran wellbeing.
What’s new for March On 2026:
- A new March On T shirt design, earned when participants raise $96
- An updated March On Fitness App, making it easier to track kilometres and sync fundraising progress
- New digital milestones and badges, unlocked as participants progress through their March On journey
To mark the opening of registrations, early participants will also go in the draw to win an Apple Watch Ultra 3 Cellular, valued at $1,400.
Mr Singer said the strength of March On lies in its simplicity and impact.
‘With veterans at higher risk of suicide than the general community, March On gives Australians a practical way to take action and help save lives.’
Registrations for the March On Challenge 2026 are now open.
