Jody spent 25 years as a member of the Royal Australian Air Force as a Logistics Officer. During her career, Jody served at RAAF Base Amberley, was part of the VIP unit 34SQN in Canberra and worked on fast jet acquisition programs including the Australian Super Hornet and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program, where she spent four years working in the USA.
Jody was introduced to Soldier On in a chance meeting on a flight between Canberra and Newcastle. Soldier On became an important source of support to Jody as she began her transition from the Defence Force. Jody understands how difficult it can be for veterans, as they figure out where they fit into civilian organisations and how their skills can be utilised.
By working with Soldier On, Jody gained the confidence needed to engage with industry leaders, establish a new network and find a fulfilling future while remaining connected to Defence.
Jody wants to help raise the profile of contemporary veterans, particularly women, to promote awareness of the changing faces of veterans and to reflect those veterans come from all three services, a variety of backgrounds and gender.
