A graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, Glenn completed Army Pilots’ Course 53, qualifying as a Black Hawk pilot with the 5th Aviation Regiment. His service included a deployment to Cambodia in 1993 and a range of key postings, including Operations Officer at the ADF Helicopter School, 2IC of 173 Surveillance Squadron, and Operations Officer at the 1st Aviation Regiment.
On 22 September 1995, Glenn was critically injured when his aircraft crashed from approximately 200 feet during a training flight. After several days on life support, his recovery required the amputation of both legs below the knee. Over the following eight years, Glenn returned to Army flying, becoming the only bilateral amputee pilot to have flown and served in the Australian Defence Force.
Glenn remains deeply committed to the veteran community, enjoying opportunities to connect with fellow veterans and having previously supported the Department of Veterans’ Affairs as a Younger Veterans Consultant.
