Michele has over three decades experience in the Royal Australian Navy, with nearly 15 years in seagoing and command positions, conducting operations around Australia and overseas. In March 2021 Michele transitioned from full time service to become an Active Reserve member, and now continues to contribute to Defence and the ADF in the Australian Public Service. Michele is the daughter of an Army veteran, the wife of an Air Force veteran and a veteran herself.
