About the role
We are currently recruiting a Senior Engineering Officer – Civil Design within the Substation Design team. This role is based at Port Macquarie.

Within the role you will be working with a team that is made up of supportive and collaborative professionals, that strive to achieve excellent results, take pride in their attention to detail and ensure that there is positive satisfaction from all internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of their high-quality designs.
As the Civil Designer within the substation design team you will be responsible for completing detail civil and structural designs, including drafting or instructing drawing officers to achieve the best results both technically and commercially. This role includes conducting investigations, providing concept designs and cost estimates, coordinating engineering surveys and mentoring team members.
This role will also include a support responsibility for the development of the Civil/Structural intelligent design platform. This involves the software package, the processes and governance.
About You
- Extensive experience in a similar role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Construction Industry.
- In-depth knowledge and application of design philosophies, procedures, and statutory requirements, including safety regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in design quality assurance and familiarity with relevant standards, legislation, and policies.
- Ability to utilise analytical and technical knowledge to address technical/engineering issues.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems, along with expertise in drawing quality control.
- Effective communication, flexibility, self-motivation, and excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex issues.
- Proficiency in computer operations and relevant business systems, as well as experience in team supervision and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
- WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert.
- Driver’s Licence
