In partnership with the Australia Defence Force, we are seeking a Store Service Attendant/ Seamsperson to join our National Clothing Store Services.
This role based at Simpson Barracks (Watsonia), located near Yallambie, Melbourne.
Reporting to the Site Leader, you will be an essential member of our Clothing Store team working along customer services, stores and tailoring professionals that support Ventia’s Defence National Clothing Store Services contract.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 38 hours per week Monday – Friday.
This role offers a pay rate of $27.75 per hour, plus Super.

Key Responsibilities:
- Customer service and over counter sales / handling uniforms
- Record keeping of customer orders
- Assist in measuring and fitting customers for clothing items.
- Assisting with duties of sewing ranks, insignia, and badges
- Assisting in sewing duties including hemming, alterations, and Medal mounting
- Use of computer systems
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Experience working in a Customer Service environment
- Basic sewing experience is preffered
- Any tailoring, hand stitching and sewing experience is desirable with further training provided
- Operating standard or heavy-duty sewing machines is desirable but not essential
- Computing skills and service systems
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
- Scheduling workloads and meeting deadlines
You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
