Veteran charity Soldier On is proud to announce the appointment of Paul Singer CVO as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 20 January.
Mr Singer brings with him a distinguished career spanning decades in service to Australia. A seasoned public servant and naval officer, he has held numerous prominent roles, including Official Secretary to the Governor-General of Australia, where he served under Sir Peter Cosgrove and David Hurley. His naval career, which began in 1996, has seen him serve on numerous vessels and contribute significantly in both active and reserve capacities.

Soldier On Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Kristen Hayes-Charlton, welcomed Mr Singer’s appointment with enthusiasm. “Paul’s wealth of experience and heartfelt dedication to Australia’s Defence community make him an outstanding choice to lead Soldier On,” Ms Hayes-Charlton said.
“I am truly looking forward to working alongside Paul as we embrace this new chapter, focusing on enhancing support for transitioning personnel, veterans, and their families. Together, we will honour and build upon Soldier On’s remarkable legacy, ensuring it remains a steadfast source of care and strength for those who have selflessly served our nation.”
Mr Singer’s distinguished career is marked by his unwavering commitment to service, having been recognised with appointments as a Member and later Commander of the Royal Victorian Order and an Officer of the Order of St John. These honours reflect his exceptional contributions to both Australia and the Commonwealth.
Under Mr Singer’s leadership, Soldier On will continue its mission to support veterans and their families, expanding its reach and impact to foster resilience, community connection, and lasting change.
