Anthony Barnes joined the ADF in 2000 and provided ten years of service. During this time, he was employed in multiple roles including deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and Timor Leste and commissioned as an Officer in the Australian Intelligence Corps (AUSTINT) prior to discharge.
After several private sector jobs, Anthony founded Viden in 2017 and has employed multiple veterans. He founded the transition stories for many of his employees, including himself were oddly similar. From the excitement entering the service to the fatigue at the end. Noting that some of his strongest and closest friends remain Defence members, the unique and shared experience of services life creates tight bonds that will no doubt last a lifetime.
As an employer Athony has seen the impact of transitioning veterans first hand. He is proud to be able to provide an understanding and supportive work environment in which contemporary veterans can transition with success.
Anthony hopes to help raise awareness and support for the veteran community, providing a friendly ear for people that are transitioning and struggling with the impact of their services or struggling to find their feet post service.
