What is mentoring?

Mentoring is the activity of supporting and advising someone with less experience in a particular area of interest, such as one’s career or personal development.

Our program

Soldier On and Boeing have teamed up to create and develop a mentoring program for veterans and their families, providing support to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) community by assisting participants in reaching their goals. These goals can vary from career progression, skill development, career planning or change, professional networking, and successful transitioning from the ADF.

Accepted participants from Soldier On will be paired with an employee from a Pledge Partner who will become their mentor for the duration of the program. Mentees’ main focus will be to develop ‘SMART’ goals with their mentor and then strategise how to best achieve these goals. Whether personal or career-related, both parties will work together to achieve these goals. This flexible program allows participants to schedule meetings, communicate, read resources, and network with other participants.

Overall, we believe this program will assist the ADF community and improve their chances of finding meaningful employment through the benefits and possible outcomes of this program.

Each intake runs for 18 weeks.
