Base Visit-RAAF Base Williamtown @ Chaplain Centre

Our Newcastle-based Programs Officer will be at RAAF Base Williamtown for the day. They will be working in the Chaplain’s Centre and will be available to discuss the services that are available for defence personnel and their families.

Our staff member(s) will happily conduct individual conversations that can go more in-depth with the participants and how we can tailor the program to meet their needs and those of their family. To register for an appointment please email newcastle@soldieron.org.au.

Coffee Catch-up – Port Macquarie – 2019

Our NSW Team will be holding a Soldier On Coffee Catch Up for veterans, supporters, family members, and volunteers in the Port Macquarie area every Wednesday.

Starting at 0930 there is no need to RSVP. One of our Participant Engagement Officers will be attending the catch up fortnightly to share information about upcoming events and to discuss ideas for future events and activities.

Twilight Sailing

You are invited to join a Sailing Crew and learn the craft of Yacht Racing with our friends at the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Toronto, Lake Macquarie. This is a great opportunity for you to join a Race Crew and develop skills and a love of sailing. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t sailed before or if you’re the keenest of sailors, sailing is for everyone!

Numbers are strictly limited and it is hoped that interested participants can join the team on a weekly basis for the winter season and enjoy being part of a racing crew on these beautiful twilight races.

Where: 6 Arnott Ave, Toronto NSW

Who can attend: This is FREE and open to all current and ex-service personnel (given the nature of this activity – ages 18+ apply)

Please note: Soldier On Staff will be in attendance on the 8th of May and then monthly from this time and throughout the season.

RSVP is required! Contact activities@soldieron.org.au and we will get you in touch with the club.

We suggest bringing: Active wear, wet weather gear, non marking shoes, hat, sunscreen

Yoga Program-Albury

Soldier On Albury in partnership with the City of Albury RSL Sub-Branch will be delivering a Yoga program tailored to your individual needs.  The program will focus on yoga techniques with strength, stability, and flexibility linked with meditation and breathwork practices. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Where: The Space, Suite 5, Level 1, 490 David Street Albury
Open to: Soldier On participants and their spouses (Inc. current and ex serving personnel). Maximum of 15 people.
Cost: Gold coin donation per class to fund future programs

Learn to Surf – Illawarra – August
Aug 3 – Aug 4 all-day

This Learn to Surf program will have you hanging 10 in no time! Soldier On participants and their families are invited to apply for this 4-week course that will cover all the basics and introduce you to the joys of time in the ocean.

Surf Therapy utilises the ocean for its mental, physical and general health benefits with participants seeing changes from taking time out and learning a new skill.

No experience or equipment necessary. Just bring yourself down to the beach and enjoy the relaxed and supportive vibes thanks to Surfing Australia and the crew at Illawarra Surf Academy!

Who: all current and ex-serving personnel (incl. current & ex-serving national security personnel) and their families
