A lot can be said for rebuilding the sense of brotherhood and camaraderie of service. That’s why Soldier on, with the support of Movember’s Social Innovators Challenge has developed Vet Connect, the inaugural men’s program.

Designed specifically to connect male service personnel to a healthy lifestyle, solid friendships, and access to their local community. The program comprises of 3 weekend workshops held over 6 months with a small group format.

Functional Fitness Group Training @ Palm Beach Aquatic Centre
Feb 18 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am

Attention all service personnel and family members in the Palm Beach area! Thanks to the Gold Coast City Council, Glenn Fitness Coast Fitness is offering a free 1 hour PT fitness session. There’s never a bad time to start working on your fitness so join up now. These group sessions have the right amount of fun and toughness and are run by an ex-serviceman.

Learn to Cycle
Feb 18 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Brisbane participants who love to cycle or keen to try, are encouraged to join the Monday 10am group at the outdoor track at the velodrome! Current and ex-service personnel from all walks of life have formed this group and it is open to all! Join Michael (an ex-service member himself) and his coaching team to get some fresh air and show off some lycra!

You will need to bring your own helmet and riding kit, however, a track bike can be borrowed. The cycling fee and insurance is covered provided you register through Soldier On.

The Chandler Outdoor Track at the Sleeman Sports Centre is located at the corner of Old Cleveland and Tilley Roads.

Museum Visit-Mephisto @ QLD Museum
Feb 21 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Soldier On invites you to attend the ANZAC Legacy Gallery, where the captured German Mephisto WW1 Tank takes centre stage. The Gallery holds artifacts from the first world war, and contains stories about Queenslanders who boarded transport ships to fight overseas. Afterwards we will be enjoying a coffee catch-up to relax and hear more about what Soldier On is doing.
