IS YOUR PARTNER (OR EX PARTNER) A CURRENT OR EX-SERVING MEMBER OF THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE?
If you would like to talk about your experiences as an ADF family, then this project may be of interest to you. The research is being done as part of a PhD in Social Work at the University of Newcastle.
The only criteria is having a partner or ex-partner who is or was recently in the ADF full time for a minimum period of two years. A diverse range of families are sought, regardless of religion or relationship status (married, de-facto, same sex, childless, mixed and step families).
The aim of this research is to contribute to knowledge about what ADF families’ experiences are, and what support they would most benefit from. For this reason, the study will not include the ADF member themselves as they have specific supports available to them.
Your involvement would include participating in a family interview with your children if you have any, and an individual interview. Each interview will take approximately one hour at a location convenient to you.
This research does seek to include children over the age of two as appropriate, as most studies do not include children themselves and their experiences are importantly sought.
Every participant has the right to withdraw at any time, and participation is completely voluntary.
If you are interested please contact Leah Cummins at firstname.lastname@example.org for a participant information statement which will provide more details about the research.
